Why Use a Professional Diver?

  • Items sink fast and can get buried — dragging or raking makes it worse.
  • Bill and his team use underwater metal detectors and precision search techniques to methodically scan the bottom.
  • Attempting recovery yourself often pushes items deeper into silt.
  • We've recovered keys, phones, jewelry, tools, and more from local lakes, rivers, and marinas.

Recovery is not guaranteed. Outcome depends on water conditions, visibility, depth, and time since loss. We will search thoroughly and report honestly.

Bill Fitzpatric giving a thumbs up underwater

Meet Bill

Bill Fitzpatric spent 32 years in the fire service — including work with elite local, state, and federal search and rescue teams — before founding Lost and Drowned. He's been scuba diving since high school, and that passion has never faded. Today, he and his team put that professional recovery background to work on a different kind of mission: retrieving what people lose in water. Using precision search techniques and underwater metal detection, Lost and Drowned specializes in small-item recovery in shallower lakes, marinas, and docks. Whether it's keys knocked off a boat, a watch that slipped from a dock, or a phone that didn't survive the day — they treat every search like buried treasure.
